You ever notice how your days go by so quickly? You are on the go, from the moment you wake up? You find yourself in the shower, but mentally at work thinking about the countless things you have to get done. Does it seem like the hustle and bustle never stops?
We are often so caught up in taking care of others that we forget to stop and take time for ourselves. It feels good to be productive, right? I also find that it feels just as good if not better being intentional to make time for yourself.
It wasn’t until recently where I started to understand the importance of morning routines. In the past my quiet time was filled with to-do’s instead of – ‘JUST BE’
Here are couple things you can start TODAY to begin your journey of self-love. The mornings work best for me but you may find other times that work for you. Whatever the case may be just start!
- Take 10 minutes in the morning of being absolutely silent and being present with yourself. (This will be hard at first but as you stick with it, your mind will start to quiet down) You can increase time as you go.
- Write out affirmations for yourself. This will help remind you of who you are when your mind can go hay wire throughout the day with all the visual over stimulation through social media.
- Take time to express gratitude.
- Find time to exercise! This is a major self-esteem booster, mood booster and improves your mental health.
As you begin implementing these practices into your life I can guarantee you will begin to see results in how you feel and carry yourself. Practicing self-love is an act of self-care and you are worth it!
